1. NYC Proud: Residents of New York (Only)
2. Yates Foundation Scholarship: NY, NJ, MD, Washington, DC, VA, SC, & California
3. Newark-STEM Scholarship: Newark, NJ (Only)
Disbursement
Scholarships will be provided in the Fall & Spring of each year for $1000 ($500-Fall & $500-Spring). Checks will be issued directly to the scholar recipient 2-3 weeks before the semester begins.
Overview of Scholarship
The description of three scholarships
1. NYC Proud Scholarship: This scholarship is restricted to NYC residents who are graduating from high school and live within the 5 boroughs. Additionally, the recipient must attend a Cuny, Suny, Public, Private, State - College/University for an associate or bachelor's degree. All majors are welcomed: Deadline to Apply is November 1, GPA requirements 2.5 (75%) or higher
Scholarship Requirements: Easy 3
a. Graduating High School Senior/ GED & Unofficial/ Official HS transcript
b. Submission of college acceptance letter (copy)
c. 250-300 word essay about yourself, area of anticipated study, and why you feel you deserve this scholarship.
2. Yates Foundation Endowment: In memory of the late Mr. George & Evangelist Otelia Yates. They believed in Education and held strong values about the youth empowering themselves academically. The Yates foundation is investing early in student achievement through the dreams of adolescents. (Majors: Education, Religion/ Philosophy, Business, Criminology/ Criminal Justice, History/ Political Science & STEM) The deadline to apply is November 1, GPA requirements 2.0 GPA or higher.

c. 250-300 word essay about yourself, who is the most influential person in your life, and what are your future goals and aspirations.
3. Newark, NJ "STEM" Scholarship: Do you have a love for Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics. Newark scholars we are here to support! You are the investment and we are elated to assist you with your career goals and aspirations! (Majors: Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Pre-Med, Political Science/ LAW Deadline to Apply is November 1, GPA requirements 3.0 or higher
Scholarship Requirements: Easy 3
a. Graduating High School Senior/ GED & Unofficially/Official HS transcript b. Submission of college acceptance letter (copy)
c. 250-300 word essay about yourself, why you choose to study a field in STEM, and what/ who sparked your interest within this field.
All candidates who are selected will be required to pick up disbursement, take a picture with the check along with college paraphernalia, and send a picture of community service conducted in an elementary, middle, or high school of choice before the following semester. Pictures will be updated on Gallery.
